Obama welcomes new director of the FBI, Jim Comey, with assurance It seems as though President Barack Obama could not have been more sure of his choice in appointing Jim Comey as the new director for the FBI in a speech given Monday.
Obama introduced Comey's success not only as an attorney, but as a person, and claims that although Comey had the resume, it was ultimately his calm and collective manner in a crisis that reassured the president's faith in Comey's qualification for this job. Furthermore, talking with Comey and his family solidified Obama's choice in the new director because he claims that he knew this man understood, "what is right and what is wrong."
After Obama's introduction, Comey, the seventh FBI director for the United States, took the stand with ease and confidence. He began by recognizing his family and their role in his new position before using the FBI's motto on the shield as the foundation for his speech: fidelity, bravery, and integrity.

Comey states his desire to work alongside these people who believe and support these morals and he hopes to live up them.
